Government Vision for Parental Support - Longterm Reality, or Campaign Noise?

The BBC is reporting on the Government’s 10 year “vision” which would provide many kinds of support for parents. Whilst this should be welcomed by most parents, especially any who have children who will benefit from this, I wonder how far it will go before it runs out of steam – or it loses its importance in the budget priorities. I suspect the Government will be motivated to champion this right up to the point that they gather in the parents’ votes. I also wonder how far the information and financial support systems that the Government plans will address the issues created by parents being responsible for everything a child does without being able to discipline the child in a way that the parent thinks appropriate. No-one wants to see a child physically abused, but at the moment we have a system where parental abuse from the Government seems to be the only alternative that the child experts can create. If their new “vision” actually delivers a solution to the current situation we have where children are becoming increasingly out of control because of the legal boundaries governing the kind of discipline boundaries parents can enforce, then perhaps it will be their saving grace – but somehow I have my doubts. Things seem good on the work front.Liz has completely redesigned the non-surgical treatments part
