Is your website Legally accessibility.

Due to recent changes inthe law it is a requirement for the websites to compile to a certain level of accessability.

Here is a quick tool that can help you find out if your site is upto scrath.

Accessibilty checking tool

All European website will be legally required to be accessible by disabled people, so that you don’t fall foul of the Disability Discrimination Act. All the details are here: Disability Discrimination Act.

I was sent this statment by someone attempting to sell their consulation service.

“It only takes one complaint to the Disability Rights Commission about your website for them to start an investigation, and if they decide to proceed with legal action, you could face a huge cost not only in compensation, but also for your company?s credibility.”

- Anne-Laure Dupuis

Only very few website need to worry abou this. Your website would need to be very large before it would realist be a problem. Only charities and human right groups are going to carry out these kind of leghal action and I think they have bigger fish to go over rather than my websites.

I’m not saying that Anne-Laure Dupuis is a fraud, the service you could provide is ligitimate (even though both of here website don’t compile). However it is scare-mongering, pure and simple.

Now for some groovy stuff I found on my travels. Michal has started a website for her Jewish speeddating in London have a look. Just a quick Kudos to Brigit who runs a Wildlife reserve all by herself.

Goodbye for now!
